Mental Seorang Pelari

Sewaktu kecil, saya bertemu dengan salah satu atlet marathon yang terkenal, kami bercakap-cakap dan bercerita banyak hal. Mendadak entah kenapa dia tiba-tiba berkata, “Semua orang tu atlet pelari, tapi belum tentu mereka memiliki mental seorang pelari”. Saya tertegun dan bertanya apa maksudnya, dia menjelaskan, “Semua orang -siapapun dia- memiliki tujuan yang ingin dicapai, mereka terus berlari mencapai impiannya tetapi tidak semuanya terus berlari, ada yang berhenti di tengah jalan atau bahkan diam di garis start dan melihat orang lain berlari. Seorang pelari membutuhkan mental yang kuat, seperti dalam kejuaraan, walaupun sudah ada orang lain yang melewati garis finish, tetap saja semua peserta terus berlari, bahkan pelari yang paling lamban. Mereka terus berlari tanpa henti.”
Mendengar pernyataan tersebut, saya langsung berfikir bahwa memang benar, semua orang pasti memiliki cita-cita atau tujuan tetapi hanya sedikit yang bisa terus berlari tanpa henti hingga ke garis finish -apapun hasilnya-. Sekarang, saya ingin bertanya kepada diri dan anda, “Apakah kita memiliki mental seorang pelari?” You decide!
