Stop Bullying, Right Now. (Lucky Bagus S-YOT CA Univ Bakrie)

Many people said that we had to stop bullying, but most of them just talked and did not mention and did not give any solution. They just gave their critics. Nowadays, we must overcome the problem with a good solution, not with a new problem. The most important thing to be emphasized is Togetherness, not Seniority. Yes, there are always the seniors and the juniors. However, it will be better if the seniors show their seniority to the juniors  by  doing activities  together, help each other, and also show  respect each other.  I had been bullied by my senior in High School. I had to walk like a model in front of my seniors in school canteen.  That is why I hate bullying and I do not want to bully anyone.

In my opinion, the most effective way in fighting bullying in the school is by creating the smart activities since the orientation time until the students graduate. As we know, in orientation time, we are always like a “stupid” person. We have to wear improper accessories, use plastic bag, and shape our hair like a lunatic. Is it what we call as educated orientation? I think, no. We are educated person, so that we should have educated way in doing anything. The seniors do bullying because they want to be respected by the junior or they just continue what their seniors have done to them when they were juniors. The impact is, it will not be finished. I believe that the smart and positive activities such as making football competition, battle of brain, and also smart orientation time that give student the real orientation, not the real seniority.

Protecting young people against bullies is the responsibility of all stakeholders of the school. Every single culture starts from home. The parents shoul give the direction to the childs and bring up togetherness at home, so they will practice it at school.  Besides that, the school regulators are better to create smart rules and regulations for build up the student’s dicipline. They sould socialize it to the student. Then, the teachers  have obligation to control and monitor for make sure the students obey to the rule and obligation. But overall, the most important role is on the student itself. They have to change their point of view from building seniority or having a score to settle with, to  creating peace for build up togetherness.  So, every single side has obligation and responsibility to protecting young people to fight the bullies.

Guys,  we know that Indonesia is the law based country.  Because of that, every single misdeed or crime should get punishment and every achievement has to be awarded. One thing that Indonesia does not implement is good reward and punishment system. They made the rule to be broken. But, I am sure, we can change it. We are the new generation of this country, the generation that will continue building this country. If from now at school we bully each other, how about this country’s future? Can we live in peace? Can we bring togetherness to helping forward our lovely country nation? I believe if we still do bullying, we just create the bad future of this nation. Because of that, the punishment has to be made for someone who do bullying and the reward must be given to everyone practicing togetherness and fighting the bullying. What kinds of punishment and reward? I do not agree if they do bullying, the school drop out the student directly. They will move to another school, continue bulling, getting drop out again, and continue bullying again. Okay, it is simple, anyone who do bullying will get suspension for 5 days. In this 5 days, the student still has to come to school. They have to join 3 programs; cleaning the school yard, joining a discussion with school counselor, and attending the motivation class with a great motivator. I think it is better for school to pay more for the counselor and motivator, than drop out the student or just giving the punishment  without any betterment to the student that has done bullying.

Okay, that’s all my opinion about bullying. For the students, my friends, just open your heart and mind. Our life at school will be more peaceful and beautiful if we bring up more togetherness and respects. Have fun your days at school.
